Wesley Douglas has resigned as CEO of the Hillsong Africa Foundation in July 2013 to pursue other opportunities. He is no longer employed by Hillsong and does no longer represent our projects or vision.
Phil Dooley | Chairman
Phil Dooley has extensive experience working with the Hillsong Foundation on social projects across Africa, including Rwanda, Uganda, Mozambique & South Africa. He is a sought-after public speaker on leadership, youth issues, and team building. He has spoken in North & South America, Africa, Japan, Hong Kong, Europe & Australia.
Phil served for many years as the Director of Youth Alive, an Australian organization that created large-scale events encouraging youth to make positive life choices to have an impact on the society around them.
Phil also served on the executive leadership team of Hillsong Church, a non-denominational international Christian church based in Sydney, Australia. There Phil served as Director of Hillsong Youth, which grew & flourished under his leadership. He travelled extensively with Hillsong United, teaching leaders and encouraging the next generation to make a difference in the world.
Phil and his wife Lucinda currently live in Cape Town. He is the Lead Pastor of Hillsong Church in Cape Town. Phil & Lucinda are passionate about serving the oppressed and needy, and bringing hope to people from every part of society.
Kurt Miller | Trustee
Kurt Miller holds a BCom Hons (Finance), MPhil (Law) and is a registered Charted Accountant (SA). He has more than ten years structured finance experience, specializing in the areas of inter alia local and cross-border transactions, black economic empowerment transactions, taxation structuring and offshore investment structuring.
Kurt is currently the MD of KeHa Holdings, a structured finance and investment business, focusing specifically on structuring transactions which have both a profit and social / developmental motive. In this regard, Kurt is one of two investment advisors to Ditikeni Investment Company, whose 19 shareholders are all non-profit organizations. Kurt is also a director and audit committee chairman of Louis Group (Africa) and acts as their empowerment and structured finance specialist. Louis Group (Africa) is an investment holding company. Kurt was also a structured financier at RMB Investment Bank.
Kurt facilitated the University of Stellenbosch’s Business Academy Programme in conjunction with the Louis Group. This programme is aimed at teaching individuals the ‘secrets’ of building a profitable business whilst promoting the virtues of stewardship, honesty and integrity in the corporate world.
